What Is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced 'ray-kee') is a gentle, natural healing method that is administered by a series of hand placements-- either on or above-- the body of the recipient. An official Japanese healing art, 'Reiki' means 'universal life force' and is available to anyone, regardless of age, lifestyle, or faith. As a result of its benefits, Reiki has been increasingly offered as part of workplace wellness programs to address burnout, and improve healing outcomes in healthcare and other industries, as well as in wellness centers, hospitals, and hospices.
Reiki is a perfect system of healing, because it works on all levels--physical, mental, and emotional. Reiki recognises the root of an imbalance and addresses it. Sometimes an emotional issue can manifest in the body as an illness or chronic physical problem. With each consecutive Reiki treatment, however, the issue normally fades away and leaves the recipient in a greater state of health, relaxation, and well-being. One does not need to 'believe' in Reiki, either, in order for it to 'work' or be effective.
Clients remain fully clothed, and only need to relax and be still in order to receive the benefits of the treatment.
